In this new brainhall show, Andreas Glauser has brought together a careful mix of sounds released by Tobias Schmitt. As Andreas puts it: “the topic of this program are the projects Suspicion Breeds Confidence and The Obvious Properties Of Dissonant Ladies of Tobias Schmitt. Schmitt lives in Frankfurt, in addition to his experimental, musical projects, is also a concert organizer in the series Xerox Exotique Active. We are listening in this hour to a selection of his releases szmt, Parvenu by Suspicion Breeds Confidence and The Obvious Properties Of Dissonant Ladies …. which he has published recently.”
The music is eerie, melodic, intruiging (where the beehive recordings come in, and you can imagine what happens if you downsize and can fly with the bees around the beehive, wearing your sonic helmet) and even frightening ( a beautiful outside recording with snippets from the environment that leak true, but that basically sounds like the sonic reenactment of an experimental trashy horror movie, with two wind instruments that play the part of the friendly neighbour who turns out to be a psychopathic serial killer).
Enjoy!
