Junie Crawford – Transmission 6 (No Birds)

The 6th transmission by Junie Crawford is definitely the best of the first six shows that he produced for Radio On. Extremely convinced by the use of voice (a long monologue), his talent for storytelling, the simple use of electric guitar and drums, I (=Rinus Van Alebeek) decided to make a collection of his earlier shows and release it as a C60 on staaltape.

In Junie’s words

“I feel the same but different. Getting harder to put down, get back on paper.”

“Materials:
January into February, another semester, the look of sober living, 7 spliffs in an ashtray, clouded visions, late for class, not enough money, a brand new used car. Easy laughter, good cash suit, Birmingham Alabama, many rides on the interstate, thinking of leaving town. No birds.”
