ShaMANoiD is created by British producer Stef Soma, a direct evolution from his UK based act formally known as the Divine Soma Experience and with whom I I worked with in the squat anarcho tech scene of old Brighton 90’s.The track “Music is magic” is still always on heavy rotation and his early work has recently been reissued on mental groove records alongside the contemporaries of that movement.
Stef has kindly given his recent recording of his live dj set at Whirlyfayre in Dorset 2024.
ShaMANoiD’s music is a hybrid of freestyle cutting edge electronic music and ethnic, world tribal music,which takes you on a shamanic journey through different energies. As a full live act ShaMANoiD performs with an ensemble of live musicians, including sitarist, cellist, bass player, drummer, percussionists and other surprise guests, however ShaMANoiD also plays a solo set with just laptop and midi controller when going to more remote gigs.
Whirl-y-Fayre is more than just a small festival and more than just a dance event. It is curated by DJ Monkey pilot and his wife Mary, it connects with the sublime and the magic of life.
