Our heroes of Berlin’s tour-guide history, Rinus Van Alebeek & Jason Honea take us to Bebelplatz, a cornucopia of campaigns, arts and education.
‘The Bebelplatz in Berlin was built as an expression of Frederick the Great’s, Prussian vision: Love for the arts, the importance of knowledge and tolerance took form in these beautiful buildings. The palace of his brother Henry became a university after his death and thus added another virtue to the Bebelplatz: the freedom of choosing your future along the lines of study. But then, centuries later, there was Hitler.’ – Rinus Van Alebeek.
