Somewhere in deep Neukölln in a neighbourhood still ruled by Balkan gangs, where women were held as slaves and the poor people shared their food with the rats, Adrian Shephard and Rinus Van Alebeek sat in a small kitchen of a former brothel. Between them a bare table with on it a bottle of cheap sake and a packet of biscuits from Aldi. It was a full moon night. In fact they could see the moon peek in through the kitchen window, there, right behind the chimney.
A woman has bounced the moonlight sonata right of the moon, so says Adrian.
And then it starts.
Moon drops, lunacy, howling, getting high on cookies and sake, pianola’s on the moon, Moonlight Sinatra..moon songs…
Brothel Moon is a show in two parts.
