Markus Stein does these things. He uses recordings he made in which people talk about their experiences as a youngster in the newly formed Germany (when the BRD and the DDR were glued together). And he uses snippets of interviews in which we hear talk about radio art and the sense of it all. And somewhere in between all the voices you will hear strange cut-up collaging soundbits that form new pieces of contemporary music.
Is there a hidden message? Is there a hidden message in all the words that are printed on billboards? Is there a hidden message in all the words and fragments of conversation we pick up when walking out on a sunny afternoon?
There is joy. There is a lot of pleasure. And there is the lightness of it all. What else does one need.
