Andreas Glauser from Brainhall Art Productions in Zürich continues his series of presentations with a portrait of Phonophon from Frankfurt am Main. Given the diversity of concerts they have organised, Andreas’s program might as well serve as an overview of the wild variety of sub genres and styles and expressions that exist in the margins of contemporary music.

[rec.phonophon] is a compilation accompanying the concert series Phonophon which is now in its 5th year of existence. It is curated by the Verein zur Förderung von Phonographie und experimenteller Musik (society for the advancement of phonography an experimental music) in Frankfurt/ Main.
More than fifty concerts with local, national and international artists have been organised since the series started.

The compilation is the documentation of a successful experiment, a homage to the multitude of contemporary experimental music and the promise to keep organising a wild series of concerts in the Rhein-Main area. Forty tracks give the listener the chance to go on a trip through a diverse and ever expanding sound universe.
