The Streets of Naguib Mahfouz by Joke Lanz

On 5.April Joke Lanz will celebrate his 50 years jubilee at the Volksbühne in Berlin. Until that day, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday we will broadcast a very special Joke Lanz documentation that he made a couple of years ago in Cairo.

On the shortest night of the year 2012, while on a residency, Joke walked through the streets, knowingly that it was for a recording, and thus made a spontaneous composition following ears, intuition and footsteps.

Those who are familiar with the works of Nobel Prize for Literature 1988 winner Naguib Mahfouz will finally be able to hear the sounds of those streets this immortal Egyptian writer walked his entire life.
